A. Preamble
The Bremen University of Applied Sciences ensures the freedom of instruction, learning and research within the framework of a scientific understanding based on democratic principles.


1. Science serves us on the road to new perspectives. This general objective of all scientific activity also informs each project at the Bremen University of Applied Sciences.

2. All members of the University are bound to respect the principles of enlightenment, integrity, openness and tolerance in their professional and private activities.

3. All members of the University are bound to fundamental moral norms in their activities. Everything that can be done may not be. Reflection on the methods employed is part of science, as are consideration of possible consequences for humanity, society and the environment and the assumption of responsibility for the results.

4. Science is always situated in a concrete society. The Bremen University of Applied Sciences accepts the associated challenges responsibly.
The University is committed to the following goals:
- a humane, free, just and democratic society, and science and technology directed toward the reduction of work, enriching of life and protection of environmental natural resources;

- an enlightened, tolerant social climate in which different interests, opinions, lifestyles and cultures are respected;

- the realisation of the equality of the sexes;

- the consideration of the particular concerns and requirements of disabled and chronically ill persons;

- the elimination and prevention of all discrimination;

- the international communication and contributes the necessary resources to their realisation.

5. The Bremen University of Applied Sciences has implemented regulations that enable all members to:

- implement initiatives,

- assume responsibility in a democratic society,

- develop the courage and ability to represent their ideas in the public arena.
