Hochschule Bremen - University of Applied Sciences

C. The International Component

The Bremen University of Applied Sciences has created a widely-recognised international profile and will extend this initiative with regard to the quality of teaching and research.

1. The Bremen University of Applied Sciences was among the first to develop a targeted international teaching and study strategy, an aspect that has become its most important trademark. The University occupies a leading position within Germany in this respect. This is particularly evident in the numerous degree courses in which students spend part of their studies abroad, acquiring qualifications for the German as well as international marketplace.

2. A worldwide network of co-operative relationships with foreign partner universities enables German students and instructors to spend time abroad, as well as foreign students and instructors to come to the Bremen University of Applied Sciences.

3. Country-specific competency centres support the internationalisation process in teaching, study and research. Participation in cross-border initiatives creates regionally-oriented international attraction. The Bremen University of Applied Sciences has identified a political opportunity in this process for regional development, for the German higher-education system as a whole, and Germany’s ability to integrate in European and global systems.
