Description of the project
Besides diamond and graphite, carbon has other allotropy structures such has carbon nano tubes (CNTs). Carbon nano tubes come in different compositions and are classified into single-walled, double-walled and multi-walled nano tubes.

During examinations of the carbon nanotubes it was discovered that fluids mixed with nano tubes show a highly electrical and thermal conductivity enhancement. Unfortunately, the mixture is unstable and tends to sediment. Therefore
the carbon nanotubes need special chemical pre-treatment before they go in suspension with the base fluid. Currently there are two different approaches known: the first is steric stabilization, organic molecules attach to the shell of the nano
tubes and act as spacers. In contrast, during the electro static stabilization, polar molecules connect to the nanotubes and due to the same electric charge, the nano tubes offload themselves.
